e-cube

this blog is a chronicle of me and my 2 daughters - elise and eliza. why did i choose "e-cube"? cos their father's name is exxxx! so exxxx, elise and eliza = e-cube! so clever! it is about my experience .... as a father, guardian, counsellor to my girls. their mommy is the most beautiful angel with strength of heart and character to boot...but this is about ME - the daddy!

WLE

in nomine patri, et filii, et spiritui sancto amen

the ceo recently started using msn instant messenger and absolutely loves it as he could now get me on emails; sms and now IM! shite!

so now whenever i log on, there will be straightaway a "greeting" from him about how the day was.... especially if there were any sales for the day .... sheesh...

i had logged on this evening at 9-ish and elise and eliza were next to me while the wife was having her shower. elise and eliza were surfing Dora the Explorer on me acer while i was banging away on my ibm to submit my report to the ceo when i got onto IM .... you guessed it ...a greeting from the ceo came immediately ..."hello ernie!" ....

i instinctively blurted out "wah lan eh" and eliza and elise latched must be tickled by this outburst when they suddenly started going "wah lan eh" at each other and laughing themselves silly after they said it!

i panicked and told them to stop ...or else the wife will kill me! so i told them that "wah lan eh" is a crude expression that they should not use ... only daddy can use WLE!! hehehe

but they were still at it and i knew the wife was about to finish her shower and if she heard WLE from elise and eliza ... there goes my peaceful night at home.....

i finally resorted to the time and trusted strategy against kids .... bribery!

me: you want sweets?
elise & eliza: yes!
me: then stop saying WLE!
elise & eliza: ok!
me: wait for daddy to go to the kitchen to get the sweets..... remember...don't say WLE ever again .... not when mommy is around!! heheheh
elise & eliza: ok!

and there you have it.... when the father is at the mercy of his kids ... no wonder my friends tell me you can learn a lot about negotiation skills by talking to kids ... who needs professional trainers?!
